Number of beds in govt hospitals to be increased: Vij

Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij today said the number of beds in government hospitals would be increased and five per cent of them would be reserved for senior citizens.
Vij was presiding over a meeting to review the functioning of Health Department, AYUSH, National Health Mission and Directorate of Medical Education and Research here today, said an official release.
The Health Minister said under the cleanliness campaign being carried out in the State, 21,265 water samples were taken from water tanks at bus stands, schools, colleges and public places.
Of these, 6,700 samples have failed and action is being taken against concerned officers.
During the meeting, officers submitted reports pertaining to dengue, malaria, availability of medicines in hospitals and other matters related to the department, he said.
To provide health services to the people, AYUSH and Health Departments would organise camps, in which medicines would also be provided.
