Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik visited the Delhi hospital to enquire about their health and prayed for their speedy recovery, an official in the CM's office said.
He also discussed the progress in their treatment with AIIMS Director Randeep Guleria and doctor and faculty member Ashok Mohapatra, he said.
The director explained that both the children were recuperating well under constant supervision.
"The doctors informed the CM that Jaga is stable but Kalia, who is still under intensive care, is improving gradually," the official said. Stating that the critical period for the twins was over, Mohapatra further said that the kids were responding well to their treatment.
The 29-month-old twins from Kandhamal district in Odisha were born joined at the head and had to undergo a 22-hour-long surgery at AIIMS in Delhi on October 25 and 26.
The Chief Minister also presented soft toys to the boys and met their parents, Bhuyan Kanhar and Pushpanjali Kanhar, to enquire about their wellbeing, the government official said.
"The parents expressed their gratitude for all the support provided to them by the Odisha government," he added.
"The office of the Chief Resident Commissioner of Odisha in Delhi is providing logistic support to Jaga and Kalia in line with the directions of the Chief Minister," the official explained.
The twins are likely to stay under supervision of AIIMS doctors for two more months, a hospital official said.
