Odisha govt sets target to cover 25 lakh farmers under crop

Odisha government today set a target to cover 25 lakh farmers under crop insurance in 2017 Kharif season which is eight lakh more as compared to last Kharif season, an official release said.
In addition to paddy, groundnut, cotton, turmeric and ginger, two more crops arhar and maize have been included from this year under crop insurance cover for Kharif season, it said.
The farmers will have to pay a maximum premium of two per cent only for the crop insurance.
