"Satyajit Patnaik is sent to jail after the court rejected his bail petition. He was arrested last night," said Bhubaneswar Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Satyabrat Bhoi.
Earlier, the commissionerate police had also arrested 15 members Odisha Youth Congress in connection with the incident.
Activists of Odisha Youth Congress and Student Congress threw eggs and showed black flags at Chief Minister's cavalcade while he was on his way to attend the annual function of the students' union at Vani Vihar in Utkal University campus on February 19.
The ruling BJD MLA and party spokesman Amar Prasad Satpathy, however, said that the law is taking its own course.
