The direction was given by Chief Secretary A P Padhi while reviewing progress of the projects at a high level meeting here attended by Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Smart City Mission, R Vineel Krishna.
Padhi advised the Mission to develop a GPS-based utility services integrated mobile app for people and appropriate waste management systems.
Projects like automated traffic signalling, railway multi-modal hub phase-I, Bhubaneswar One (common GIS Platform), Shantinagar Awas Yojana and Satyanagar Institutional Core area development were put on first track.
The project has been estimated at Rs 10 crore and bid document was ready. It has been targeted to develop the system within nine months, Krishna said.
The Common Integrated GIS platform project would have online information about basic data of the city containing properties, land use, master plan, monuments, parking, educational institutions, health institutions, routes, bus services, online routes of tax payment and others.
Krishna said the phase-I of the project has been estimated at Rs three crore and nearing completion. The other first tracked project was Railway Multi Modal Hub under phase-I near the railway station.
The Satyanagar Institutional Core Redevelopment (ICR) project has been envisaged over an area of 40 acres by the Smart City Mission. The project would be developed over the area into an institutional space for promotion of commerce, business and education hub.
The joint survey of BMC (Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation) and GA (General Administration) department has been completed for the ICR.
Shantinagar Awas Yojana for redevelopment of slum areas has also been taken up and joint survey of BMC and GA department was on, the official said adding other projects reviewed in the meeting included Bhubaneswar Urban Knowledge Centre, 'I am Bhubaneswar' and Street Vendor Improvement Programme.
