Officials begin fixing candidates' names, symbols in EVMs

About 1200 Electoral Officials today started fixing symbols and names of 26 candidates for Salem Lok Sabha constituency in the Electronic Voting Machines here in the presence of Central Observer, Dr Shyamala Equbal.
The process was conducted at the CSI Polytechnic College.
District Collector, Haneesh Chhabra told media persons that total electorate in the constituency was 14,97,515, polling booths 1648, EVMs 3462 and control units 1731.
After voting process was over, the ballot boxes will be kept in police custody at the Government Engineering College at Karuppur near here.
