Mobile handset startup OKWU today said it expects to clock Rs 150 crore in revenue this fiscal, driven by strong sales traction from regions like north-east, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh.
"We started our operations in the country last year and have scaled up distribution and sales. We have received a good response and are looking at revenues of Rs 150 crore from the smartphone segment by March 2018," OKWU CEO and Managing Director Anshuman Atul told PTI.
He added that the company will also look at foraying into the feature phone segment later this year and is working on bringing in four devices.
"I believe, there is still ample scope in this extremely price sensitive and price-driven market. We will launch feature phones under the brand name 'Venn' this December," he said.
He added that the company would target sales of 2 lakh feature phones every month.
OKWU today also launched two new smartphones -- Sigma and YU FLY, priced at Rs 8,200 and Rs 9,699, respectively.
"We have seen strong traction from markets like North East and Assam, Maharashtra, Bihar, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh," Atul said.
He added that the company will unveil two more smartphones this fiscal, one priced in the sub-Rs 5,000 category and the other in the Rs 10,000-15,000 segment.
