"The government has asked the officials concerned to complete the old and incomplete irrigation projects first before taking up new ones in the state, Das said while addressing party workers at the Mahatama Gandhi Town Hall in Medininagar of Palamau district.
Over 40 per cent of the population of the state was living below poverty line in a state which has abundance of mineral resources, he said.
"We wanted to bring in some change and develop the state on all fronts," Das said adding the state government has taken initiatives in this regard.
As far as drinking water supply from the Ganga was concerned, he said the feasibility report was ready in this regard.
Asking people to change their mindset and improve work culture to achieve the desired result, Das, who laid the foundation stone of a new collectorate building at an estimated cost of Rs 22 crore in the premises of the existing one in Medininagar, warned the government officials to follow the system or face the music.
Commenting on completion of the first year of the Narendra Modi government, the Chief Minister claimed the biggest achievement of the Modi government was that it was scam-free unlike the previous UPA government, when the country witnessed scam after scam during its 10-year rule.
"AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi is unaware about poverty and difference between the Rabi and Kharif crops and is misleading the country on the issue of the proposed bill," he alleged.
