One person has been arrested here for allegedly using faking identity card to pose as a DTC official while travelling in its buses, the state-owned transport agency today said.
In a statement, the DTC said that Anju Kumar alias Amit Malik, not only used to travel in the DTC buses free of cost using a "fake identity card" that purportedly showed him as a DTC officer, but was also involved in many "forgery cases" by collecting money on the pretext of offering 'jobs' in Delhi Transport Corporation.
He was detected by the Corporation's vigilance team and was arrested recently, the DTC said.
The incident came into notice on December 2 during an inspection when the accused was travelling in a DTC bus en route to Peera Garhi Depot, where he showed a fake identity card in which he was mentioned as Amit Kumar Malik, working as designation ATS, however there is no such post in DTC, the DTC said.
Later he was taken to the police station of central Delhi's Paharganj area, where during the interrogation he revealed his real name as Anju Kumar and confessed his involvement in various cases of forgery of collecting money on the pretext being a DTC officer and alluring people by offering them 'jobs', DTC said.
An FIR has been lodged against him and further enquiry has been started, it said.
