One arrested for sending 'objectionable' message in Moradabad

A 17-year-old boy was arrested in connection with the 'objectionable' message that had allegedly circulated via social networking app here, sparking communal tension in the district on Saturday last week.
We arrested a 11th standard boy in connection with the case yesterday who has been sent to juvenile home. During the investigation it was known that he had sent the message to a person who forwarded it to others, said SSP Lov Kumar.
He was booked under relevant section of IPC and 67 of the IT Act. Hundred persons have also been booked in the case, against whom investigations are on, he said.

Tension had prevailed in the district after an 'objectionable' message against a community was allegedly circulated on a social networking app.
However, the immediate action from police and district administration brought the situation under control.
