A man was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly supplying spurious liquor to two men, who died after consuming the alcohol in Muzaffarnagar's Sisauli village, police said.
The accused, Sonu during interrogation said the spurious liquor was given to him by a police constable, said tation House Officer (SHO) Virender Kasana said.
The search for the accused constable is underway, the SHO added.
Two men had died and one had suffered paralysis after allegedly consuming spurious liquor.
Niraj (40) had died during treatment at Meerut medical college on Monday while Brijesh (35) died on Sunday. The third victim Narender (39) had lost his eye sight and is paralysed.
The district administration has given Rs 75,000 each to the family of the victims as an ex-gratia, an official said.
