The vehicle was going to Bamakei village to attend a fire mishap when it met with the accident yesterday while trying to overtake another vehicle, police sources said.
Deceased was identified as Ghanashyam Gouda of Rajapaur village while the injured are employees of the fire station at Digapahandi. Injured persons were admitted at the hospital at Digapahandi, they said.
Angry over the incident, villagers blocked the road from Digaphandi to Patapur for several hours demanding compensation to the family members of the deceased. The blockade was lifted after local officials and leaders convinced the protesters.
