A total of 13 accidents involving school buses, vans and RTVs were reported since 2012 upto July 15, 2015, in which FIRs were registered at concerned police stations and 13 persons were arrested, the Minister said in reply to the questions of MPs PR Sundaram and CH. Malla Reddy.
In the current year three accidents occurred in which 22 students were injured in National Capital Territory (NCT) of, he said.
In the current year, upto July 15, 2015, a total of 1460 school buses were challaned and 31 were impounded by Delhi Police for violating these guidelines, said the Minister.
Besides, Transport Department challaned 94 school buses and impounded 61 others from April 1 to June 30 this year, he said.
The number of school buses challaned and impounded by Delhi Police in last three years were 7321/693 in 2012, 3736/714 in 2013 and 2679/31 in 2014.
