One killed in gas cylinder explosion at Chhath pond

One person was today killed and six others were injured when a gas cylinder of a balloon vendor exploded near a pond during Chhath festival at Matkuria Vikash Nagar in Dhanbad district, police said.
The cylinder exploded when the vendor was pumping gas into a balloon at about 5 AM injuring him and six others. The injured vendor died on his way to a hospital.
Two of the six injured were members of a band party hired by Chhath devotees. They were taken to a nursing home and released after first aid, police said.
