One killed in vehicle pile up in Sirhind

A 61-year-old man was killed while several others injured in a multiple vehicle pile up that occurred due to dense fog at GT road near Sirhind here.
Anil Kumar, resident of Sun City Enclave in Hoshairpur, was travelling with his son and daughter-in-law in an SUV to Delhi, police said.
He sustained serious injuries when his vehicle turned turtle after being hit by a truck from rear. Investigating Officer Nirmal Singh said that after the collision, Kumar was taken to a Khanna based private hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
In the pile up, over dozen vehicles rammed into each other, causing injuries to several people, police said.

A car driver had a narrow escape when his vehicle got sandwiched between two trucks, they added.
