Police said one person from Ramgopalpur died at Diamond Harbour Hospital this morning taking the toll to five in the district in past three days.
Three persons died on Tuesday itself at Ramgopalpur, with two having died on the spot and one on Tuesday night at the Diamond Harbour Hospital.
Another person, hailing from Madhusudanpur in Kultali, succumbed yesterday at the same hospital.
An estimated 20 persons fell sick after consuming the hooch from joints in the two localities of Kakdwip and Kultali on Tuesday.
All the victims and ailing persons are daily wage earners.
Police claimed that two owners of hooch dens were arrested today.
