Mumbai Police have arrested one more accused in connection with the recently busted transfers and postings racket concerning senior officials.
Kamlesh Kanade (29), who hails from Pune was nabbed by the crime branch on Sunday, they said.
"We have arrested five accused in this connection so far and our investigations are on," Additional Commissioner of Police, KMM Prasanna, said.
Mumbai police claimed to have busted a transfers and postings racket concerning senior police officials by arresting four persons, including a personal assistant of a former minister, from a plush hotel near city airport on June 1.
It was during the interrogation of the accused that Kanade's name surfaced, another official said.
It was revealed that he made constant calls and Whatsapp messages to the arrested accused, the official said.
Crime branch sleuths in a raid at a five-star hotel arrested Kishore Mali, Ravindra Yadav, Vishal Omble and Vidyasagar Hirmukhe, he said.
The accused had contacted Namdev Chavan, deputy commissioner of police, Solapur with an offer for a lucrative posting in Mumbai in return for cash.
DCP Chavan had then lodged a complaint with the crime branch, after which a trap was laid and arrests were made.
Police suspect that the accused may have duped some senior officials including those from the IPS.
