One person injured as rival groups hurl bombs

One person was injured when two rival groups hurled bombs at each other at Bada Khairakhama village in Odisha's Ganjam district today.
The injured, Muralidhara Jena was first admitted to Khallikote hospital and them shifted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital here. His condition stated to be out of danger, police sources said.
The members of rival groups allegedly hurled bombs from the roof of their houses following some dispute this morning, police said.
The situation in the village was normal at present, inspector in-charge of Kodala police station SK Senapati said adding police personnel in strength were deployed in the area to prevent any further flare up.
It was third incident in the village since the twin election held for the state Assembly and Lok Sabha on April 10. While Satyabadi Sahu, sarpanch of Bada Khairakhama panchayat was seriously injured following the allegedly attack of his opponents outside a polling station in the village on the election day, the husband of the samiti member Duryodhan Gouda was injured on Friday when the supporters of sarpanch allegedly attacked him in the village.
At least two persons, including the son of the sarpanch have been arrested on Saturday in connection with the allegedly attack of husband of samiti member, said sub divisional police officer, Chhatrapur A.Ch Pahi. The arrested persons are Shankara Sahu, son of the sarpanch and Dibakara Barika of the same village, police said.
Previous enmity and political rivalry was stated to be the cause of the incidents, police said. The village is under Kabisuryanagara assembly segment.
