One fisherman is missing after the boat in which he set out for fishing along with three others sunk off the coast off Ariyaman beach on Tuesday, police said.
The fishermen from Mandapam put out to the sea and were fishing about three nautical miles off Ariyaman beach when the boat sunk due to rough sea resulting in a wooden plank breaking, police added.
Three fishermen used their life jackets and managed to reach the coast, police said.
One fisherman-Pandi was missing and the Coast Guard and coastal marine police launched a search for him, they added.
