A man was trampled to death by a tusker in his house courtyard at Laskardubi village in Morigaon district, police said today.
Khitish Das (50) was attacked and trampled to death by the elephant after it entered his residential compound last night.
Environmentalists are of the opinion that herds of elephants frequently come down from their habitats through Sonaikuchi and Khulahat corridor in search of food leading to man-elephant conflict.
