Auctions had come to a halt due the adamant policy of the Nashik District Traders' Association of not allowing local traders who are not its members to participate in onion auctions, APMC Chairman Nanasaheb Patil and APMC Secretary B Y Holkar said.
Farmers who were eagerly awaiting onion auctions to resume at Lasalgaon APMC since a week, brought 3,000 quintals and got a price of Rs 1,776 per quintal, which is merely Rs 6 more than the price which prevailed when auctions were halted, Patil said.
