Swiggy will be the exclusive pan-India partner for the second-largest fast food hamburger chain and will take care of their logistics for all 23 outlets in Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Delhi and Gurgaon, the company said in a statement.
"While expanding our catalog, we expect to create a large impact in the hyper-local delivery space - customers can expect to receive their favourite burgers in 35 minutes from the comfort of their home," said Nandan Reddy, co-founder, Swiggy.
Online apps and mobile penetration have changed the way business is being done worldwide, chief executive at Burger King, Raj Varman, said.
"We believe tech-enabled solutions will give us a chance to keep pace with customers. This strategic tie-up with Swiggy has opened avenues for faster growth," he said.
Swiggy has raised $18.5 million from SAIF Partners, Norwest Venture Partners and Accel Partners through two rounds of funding.
Founded in August 2014, its inception was inspired by the thought of providing a complete food ordering and delivery solution to customers.
Swiggy has its own fleet of delivery personnel for order pick up enabling them to offer their customers several convenient features like faster deliveries, no minimum order and multiple online payment options.
