Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today exhorted people to rout the Congress-led UPA government in the next general elections and pave way for a NDA government at the Centre to fulfil their dreams and aspirations.

Addressing a gathering at a function organised on the martyrdom day of Shaheed Udham Singh here, the Chief Minister said successive Congress governments at the Centre have failed to realise people's dreams.

Ill conceived policies of successive Congress governments have led to inflation, poverty, unemployment, illiteracy and corruption, he said.

Paying rich tributes to Udham Singh, Badal said to pay homage to such great heroes, the state government was constructing the Jang-e-Azaadi memorial at Kartarpur in Jalandhar district.

Unleashing a scathing attack on the UPA government, the Chief Minister said it has failed to provide security to people and added, on one hand countries like China were posing a serious threat to external security, Maoist-related problems were threatening the country's internal security, on the other.

UPA government has virtually become a synonym of scams and scandals as most of its ministers are immersed in corruption, Badal said, alleging that most Congress leaders have stashed their money abroad, for which the central government was hesitating to bring it back.
