The students met Northern Army Commander Lt Gen D S Hooda at Udhampur and shared with him their experience of their journey over the last few days.
"A total of 28 students (20 boys and 8 girls) from Kargil and adjoining areas were part of the tour to various places of Northern India conducted by the Army for the youth of the area as part of Operation Sadbhavana," PRO Defence, Northern Command said.
During their tour, the students visited Patiala, Chandigarh and Jammu. In Chandigarh, they saw Rose Garden, Rock Garden, Sukhna Lake, Chandigarh city and Mahindra & Mahindra Tractor Factory, the PRO added.
In Jammu, they saw Bahu Fort, Bagh-E-Bahu, Wave Mall and Raghunath Temple, he said, adding, the four teachers who were part of the tour informed that the children learnt a lot and were appreciative of the arrangements made by the Army.
