As per the report published by the Central Electricity Authority, IB Thermal Power Station of the OPGC has achieved highest 91.02 per cent PLF in the first quarter of FY 2014-15, a release from the OPGC said.
According to the CEA report, the OPGC has also ranked 10th amongst all thermal power producers, government & private, across India during this period, it said.
It may be noted that after the formal work commencement by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in February 2014, the 2x660 MW expansion project of OPGC's 3rd and 4th Units at IB Thermal Power Station is now in the construction phase. These two units of 660 MW capacity each are scheduled to come up by 2017 and are being developed with environment-friendly super- critical technology, for which BHEL has been awarded the contract for BTG.
