Oppn parties accuse Tel govt of not serious on job creation,

The opposition Congress, BJP, TDP and CPI(M) today staged a walk out from the Telangana Legislative Assembly accusing the ruling TRS of adopting a negligent attitude towards employment generation even as the state government asserted that it is committed to the cause.
Participating in a short discussion on 'filling up of government vacant posts and unemployment issue', main opposition Congress member T Ram Mohan Reddy said only around 16,000 jobs have been filled so far since the government assumed office three and half years ago.
Observing that employment generation was a major reason for fighting for a separate Telangana, he alleged that a deep disappointment prevailed now among the job aspirants.

Alleging that the state government failed to fill up vacancies as per expectations, BJP member K Laxman demanded that a white paper be released on the number of jobs created so far and other issues.
He sought a calender to be announced for recruitment by the government.
Laxman also asked if the government considered giving any financial assistance to the unemployed youth.

MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi said expectations from the government on the employment generation front are unprecedented.
TDP's R Krishnaiah spoke at length on the need for undertaking a major recruitment drive to strengthen the administration.
Dismissing the opposition's criticism, Finance Minister E Rajender said the government has recruited 27,874 people so far and that a number of others are in the process of being recruited.

The IT sector is doing well in Telangana and the government would undertake a major recruitment drive in the coming months, he said.
Expressing dissatisfaction with the minister's reply, Congress and BJP members walked out in protest.
Hitting out at the Congress, Legislative Affairs Minister T Harish Rao asked how many vacancies did its governments fill when the party was in power for long in undivided Andhra Pradesh.
A report of the Union Labour Ministry stated that unemployment is low in Telangana compared to other states, he said.
The government had committed to provide about 1.12 lakh jobs in five years and it would fulfil that, the minister said.

Senior BJP leader Yashwant Sinha had also pointed out that demonetisation and GST adversely affected employment generation, he said.
Alleging that the state government did not take concrete and adequate steps for employment generation, TDP and CPI(M) also walked out.
