Congress members, not satisfied with the replies of Treasury benches which wanted a discussion, staged a walkout insisting on a loan waiver package.
As Leader of the opposition, Radha Krishna Vikhe Patil led the walkout, Fadanvis urged it to return and participate in the discussion. Despite the chief minister's appeal, the opposition walked out, prompting Fadanvis to lash out, saying it was "politicising" the whole issue and was not serious to resolve it.
Several NCP members were present in the House.
Vikhe Patil was on his feet when the House assembled for the day, demanding suspension of the Question hour and demanded a complete loan waiver.
He urged the chief minister to send an all-party delegation to New Delhi to meet the Prime Minister and seek financial assistance to tackle the drought situation.
Soon other opposition members entered the Well of the House, raising slogans and threw pieces of paper in the air.
