"I think if we field well and limit some of the damage Sehwag can do that will be part of our plan. If we do that consistently we may give ourselves a chance," Vettori told reporters before a net session here.

"It is always difficult to play against Sehwag because he is a very good player of fast and spin bowling," he said.

On being slow starters in previous IPL matches, Vettori said the team management has been talking about it and found out that poor fielding had let them down at the start of last IPL and Champions League.

"Fielding was not upto standards (and) that didn't allow us to register wins. When we sorted that out we started winning," he said.

The RCB skipper said he was very happy with this year's team, which has been bolstered by Andrew Mcdonald and Vinay Kumar, who is making a comeback.

"Young Indian player Harshal Patel has impressed in the nets. Vinay is a quality bowler and Andrew is a good all-rounder coming in," he said.

Vettori hoped that the RCB meet fans' expectations and go one step further this time around.

"Expectation is a good thing. Whenever you perform people want to see you perform even better. We have made pretty good improvements in the team."

Asked about Zaheer Khan's fitness, Vettori said he was confident of the ace pacer going out and perform.

"He has been bowling a lot in the nets. He is slowly getting back into the fitness mould," he said.(MORE) PTI BDN MSR BN AH
