Afghanistan's Ambassador to India Abdali says people in his country are big Indian film buff.
"Afghani people love Indian cinema. You will not find a single family there not watching Indian films and not speaking Hindi. They have the enthusiasm and zeal to watch Indian films," Abdali said while inaugurating the second edition of Ladakh International Film Festival (LIFF).
Abdali recalls how megastar Amitabh Bachchan's visit to the war affected country brought smile to many faces.
"I remember Amitabh Bachchan was going to come in Kabul in 1980s unfortunately that time war was going on and a girl walked up to the President and requested him to ask the warring parties to stop it (fighting) for a day for the sake of Amitabh Bachchan," he said.
A section of Bachchan's "Khuda Gawah" was shot in Afghanistan.
"There was one more film that was shot here in 1942-1943... We hope to go back to those days as early as possible," he said.
Abdali said he does not believe in boundaries.
"We have physical boundaries but we don't have emotional boundaries. I call it civilisation ties. I am thankful to the organizers for inviting me. I demonstrate my commitment to Indian stars and filmmakers to revive things," he added.
