Over 14384 cases were disposed of during the National Lok Adalat held across Jammu and Kashmir today, an official said.
The National Lok Adalat was held under the patronage of acting chief justice of state high court and patron-in-chief of State Legal Services Authority (SLSA), Justice Ramalingam Sudhakar.
An amount of Rs 5.25 crore was awarded as compensation in Motor Accident Claims Tribunals (MACT) cases, and an amount of Rs 67.20 crore was settled in bank recovery suits in the state, according to a statement issued by member secretary SLSA R N Wattal.
