The championship will be a selection trial to pick the Indian team for the Junior Asian Athletic championship, Tamil Nadu Athletic Association President WI Davaram told reporters here today.
More than 200 athletes will represent Tamil Nadu in the five-day championship, he said.
There will be over 60 events each for Under-20, Under 18, Under-16 and Under-14 for both boys and girls.
Besides, there will be decathlon for junior men, octathlon for boys U-18, pentathlon for boys U-16 and triathlon for boys U-14 years, while hepthalon, pentathlon and triathlon will be held for girls under 18, 16 and 14 respectively, Davaram said.
