With most of the companies treating recruiting exercise with an element of indifference, only half of respondents globally, including India, were satisfied with their recent experience of job application process, a survey has found.

"Only half of respondents globally were satisfied with their recent experience of the job application process. In India, 41% employees are satisfied with their job application process," the survey by workforce solutions provider Kelly Services' revealed.

It further said that about 23% of applicants in India were dissatisfied with the application process due to lack of clear or regular communication or updates regarding the status of their application.

Many candidates complain about lack of information regarding where they stand in the application process and it's often described as a 'communications blackout' that leaves candidates confused and bewildered, it pointed out.

The countries which were satisfied with over 50% with the job application process were Russia (68%), Thailand (59%), and Poland and the UK (both 56%).

"One of the keys to improving the job application process lies in keeping the communication transparent with candidates and to let them know where they stand, both after submitting their resume or application and following an interview.

"It is also important that employers make it as easy as possible to submit applications," Kelly Services Managing Director, Malaysia and India, Kamal Karanth said.

The Kelly Global Workforce Index (KGWI) is an annual global survey revealing opinions about work and workplace.

Almost 2,30,000 people across the Americas, EMEA and APAC regions responded to the 2014 survey.
