Out of the total arrival, government procurement agencies have purchased more than 41.77 lakh MT paddy while the rest has been purchased by millers and dealers, a spokesman of the Food and Supplies Department said here.
While Food and Supplies Department has purchased more than 19.03 lakh MT of paddy, more than 14.80 lakh MT has been purchased by HAFED. Around 4.32 lakh MT of paddy has been purchased by the Haryana Agro-Industries Corporation and over 3.60 lakh MT has been procured by the Haryana Warehousing Corporation, he said.
He said that farmers have been advised to clean and dry their harvest properly before bringing the crop to the markets so that they do not have to face any problems in storage due to high moisture content.
