Singers Ozzy Osbourne and Lady Gaga are among the artists whose lyrics British fans struggle to understand, according to a new study.
Research conducted by Blinkbox aimed to uncover the most commonly misheard lyrics in pop and the artists hardest to understand, reported Digital Spy.
Osbourne topped the poll of the artists who were the hardest to understand with 28 per cent of the vote. He was shortly followed by Lady Gaga who came second with 24 per cent vote.
Shaggy claimed third place with 22 per cent, while Sean Paul and Jay Z were fourth and fifth respectively with 14 per cent vote.
The research also revealed the pop songs commonly sung incorrectly.
ABBA's famous hit 'Dancing Queen' came top of the poll with 22 per cent of people admitting they had mistaken the lyric 'See that girl, watch that scene, diggin' the dancing queen' for 'See that girl, watch her scream, kicking the dancing queen'.
The study also found that the lyrics from Queen's 'We Will Rock You' are often mistaken. The confusion is with the line 'kicking your can all over the place', with 18 per cent of the study's participants mistaking it for 'kicking your cat all over the place'.
Rap/hip-hop was also revealed as the hardest genre to understand with 56 per cent. Indie-rock came second (with 13), Dance music third (with 9 per cent) and Pop fourth (8 per cent).
