Filmmaker Guillermo Del Toro has revealed that he has submitted the budget and script of "Pacific Rim 2".
Del Toro took to Twitter to offer the update, reported Ace Showbiz.
The director wrote, "PACIFIC RIM 2: Budget and script went in. No answers yet. If anything happens, I will post. If nothing happens, I will just keep rambling."
Earlier this month, Del Toro told fans that the budget for the "Pacific Rim" sequel was ready and he was waiting on a script from John Spaihts ("Prometheus").
The "Crimson Peak" director added, "Then [it] is up to the studios to give it a green light."
"Pacific Rim 2" was originally planned for 2017 but it is now put on hold indefinitely.
Del Toro assured fans that the project was not cancelled.
"We are still turning in a screenplay and a budget in three weeks. As far as I'm concerned, it's not gone. We're still on it."
He added that the film's delay was only temporary.
