The air strikes were launched in Tirah valley of Khyber Agency which is one of seven semi-autonomous tribal regions.
A military official said that two hideouts were destroyed in the precision attacks.
"The attack also killed 15 militants while eight more were injured," he said.
The attack coincided with militants killing three policemen in suburbs of provincial capital Peshawar which borders with Khyber Agency.
"The police raided a suspected hideouts but were attacked by militants," said police official, Mian Saeed.
Today's violence followed a suicide bombing at a government office in Khyber Agency yesterday which killed six people including four personnel of tribal police.
