According to an official release, Palanimuthu, has been empanelled by CPT for 2014-2016 as per the recommendation of Union Minister for Road Transports, Highway and Shipping Nitin Gadkari and Union Consumer Affairs Minister Ramvilas Paswan.
During his tenure at the Port, Palanimuthu would appear before Madras High Court, CAT, Arbitration and Conciliation centres including tribunals, it said.
Palanimuthu has taken over charge as Legal Adviser of the Port from June 25, it said.
Palanimuthu also serves as Panel Advocate at the Mineral and Metals Trading Corporation Ltd., Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL), Tamil Nadu Industrial Co-operative Bank (TAICO), Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) and State Bank of India (SBI), the release said.
