Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K Palaniswami today said the government was implementing several welfare schemes in the district.
Participating in the wedding of 120 couples, the Chief Minister said Rs 54-crore has been sanctioned for the flyover at Kalavasal junction.
Besides, a bridge linking Paravai and Thuvariman would be constructed at a cost of Rs 18 crore, he said.
The other projects included Madurai-Azhagar Kovil Poovanthi link road, a bridge on Kurivikaran Salai and a ring road from Chittampatti to Nagari.
The two-lane Uthangui-Kappalur would be converted into a four-lane road at Rs 214 crore, he said.
Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam was also present on the occasion.
