Haque's name was announced today in the list of a total of 967 police personnel who have been awarded police medals.
The officer was also given the 'Best Electoral Practice Award' today on National Voters Day in New Delhi for successfully conducting the 2014 General elections in restive Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra while he posted as the SP.
Also, during his tenure as SP of Gadchiroli, he has been instrumental in bringing in various arresting naxal activities in the district with campaigns like 'Nav-Jeevan', under which police encouraged the ultras to give up arms.
