Pandemonium prevailed in Jharkhand Assembly today as the Opposition stalled the proceedings for the third consecutive day over their demands in connection with alleged irregularities in the 5th Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) examination.
Several Opposition members, who carried banners or wore T-shirts with demands for a CBI probe written on them, trooped into the Well as soon as the House met for the day.
While the JMM and the JVM were demanding scrapping of the results and a CBI probe, Congress sought to put the results on hold and order a probe at the requisite level.
They ignored Speaker Dinesh Oraon's repeated pleas to maintain dignity of the House, forcing him to announce adjournments twice.
The Opposition also ignored Parliamentary Affairs Minister Saryu Roy's offers to debate the issue.
Roy had yesterday also said the government was ready to debate the adjournment motion, moved by JVM (P) Legislature Party leader Pradip Yadav, on the issue under rule 54 with the permission of the chair, which was rejected by the Opposition.
They continued with their demand for a CBI probe and cancellation of the JPSC results, announced few days ago.
Before the House was adjourned for the second time till the lunch break, Roy launched a counter attack asking the Opposition leaders as to who had issued the advertisement for (JPSC) published on August 13, 2013 and who sent requisition to the JPSC?
The Minister also asked as to who had been in the government and who was the chief minister then?
Informing the chair the Opposition has not given their demands in writing, Roy said the government was ready to show them the related files.
Revenue and Land Reforms Minister Amar Kumar Bauri said the Opposition did not have any right to stall the proceedings for three straight days.
"You are making JPSC candidates political pawns, playing with their future," Bauri charged.

Noisy scenes prevailed even after the lunch break,
forcing Oraon to adjourn the House till tomorrow.
Before adjourning the House for the day, the Speaker suggested the Opposition to accept the government's offer of debate on the issue.
He told them they could raise the issue during the debate over the budget allocations for the welfare department as the Opposition had moved a cut motion against it.
Urban Development Minister C P Singh also pitched for a debate saying it would give a chance to both - the Opposition and the ruling sides - an opportunity to express their views.
But with the Opposition unrelenting on its demands and continued ruckus in the Well, Oraon took up the budget allocations which were passed through voice vote.
