The committee, headed by former member of State Human Rights Commission Prof S Balaraman, today submitted its report to Chief Minister Oommen Chandy.
According to sources, the report recommended increase in pay scales based on different categories of the hospitals they are working.
The report also wanted the "bond system" in hospitals to be strictly banned and duty hours of nurses fixed as eight hours.
Nurses in many private hospitals in the state have been on a warpath demanding pay increase and better working conditions. PTI NM RC
