Pankaj Patel takes over as President of FICCI

Zydus Cadila Healthcare Chairman and Managing Director Pankaj R Patel took over as the President of the FICCI for 2016-17 at the conclusion of the chamber's 89th annual general meeting here today.
Patel brings with him over 35 years of professional experience and spearheads the affairs of Zydus Cadila, Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) said in a statement.
He is also the chairperson of the Board of Governors of the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, IISER, Kolkata; a member of the Board of Governors and also the chairman of the Finance Committee of the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.
Rashesh Shah, chairman and CEO of Edelweiss Group was elected senior vice-president and Malvinder Mohan Singh, Executive Chairman at Fortis Healthcare Limited & SRL Diagnostics Limited was elected as vice president.
Shah also serves on the boards of various companies and public institutions.
He has previously been on the Executive Committee of the National Stock Exchange and also on the SEBI (Stock Exchange Board of India) committee to review insider trading regulations.
A Doon School alumnus, Singh graduated in Economics Honours from St Stephen's College, Delhi University. Later, he went on to earn an MBA degree from Fuqua School of Business, Duke University in USA.
