A parcel sent to the house of a Post department employee exploded here today, injuring his son and two others, police said.
Inspector General of Police Satish Saxena said K K Dixit, a post-master, received the parcel at his house in Anand Nagar colony in the city yesterday.
Dixit's son Ritesh (30) opened the parcel today and possibly found some electronic gadget-like thing inside which, when he tried to start, exploded, injuring him and two others (not the post-master himself), the IG said.
Ritesh's condition was serious and he and the other two injured persons were admitted to a private hospital, he added.
"Police have registered a case. The exact cause of the blast would be known after the investigation. Police are probing who sent the parcel," said Saxena.
A team of Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) from Bhopal too was probing the matter, he added.
