Elected representatives and Panchayti Raj members declared Parihar block as ODF in presence of the district magistrate, MPs, MLAs and others at a function.
Speaking on the occasion, DM Rajeev Raushan said that one important milestone was achieved towards making the entire Sitamarhi district Open Defecation Free.
"Behavioural change of the community is our prime concern," he added.
The DM felicitated all 27 mukhiyas of Parihar block for their role in taking the initiative.
Sitamarhi is home to 273 gram panchayats of which 160 are ODF.
