The Chief Minister was speaking at Kisan Rin Vitran Samaroh in Fatehabad, where loans amounting to Rs nine crore were disbursed to more than 400 farmers. More than 2,000 farmers were present in this function.
He said in view of the decreasing size of landholdings of farmers in Haryana, they would have to adopt modern and scientific techniques along with traditional methods.
They would have to adopt crop diversification, besides cultivation of fruits, flowers and vegetables. They would also have to carry out dairy farming, beekeeping, mushroom production and pisciculture, he added.
He said that with the assistance of the private sector, Haryana would become the leader in milk production.
The CM said the state government is pursuing seriously the inputs received regarding funding to Hurriyat from Kundli in district Sonepat, and strict action will be taken against those found guilty.
The Chief Minister was replying to a question raised by media persons in Fatehabad today.
Replying to another question, he said appropriate action was being taken on all issues discussed between Aarakshan Aandolan Sangharsh Samiti and the state government.
On being asked about amendment in the roadways policy, the Chief Minister said that the state government had submitted in writing to the High Court regarding the amendment in the policy.
Suggestions of roadways union would be sought whenever a new policy is formulated in the State.
Khattar said with a view to fill up vacant posts of teachers at the earliest, appointments are being given to Junior Basic Training (JBT) teachers following the High Court vacating its stay.
Besides, a written communication has been sent to Haryana Staff Selection Commission for recruitment of teachers to almost an equal number of posts.
Replying to a question, he said that the list of schools to be upgraded by the State Government included only those schools which fulfil all norms for upgradation.
The Chief Minister said that the State Government was carrying out work to establish government colleges for women within radius of 20 kilometres at a rapid pace so that girls do not have to travel far for education and have easy access to better education.
He said that the State Government was working on a policy to distribute milk to children in schools under mid-day meal scheme, and this would soon be implemented.
Replying to another question, he said that college has been opened in sub-tehsil Bhuna, district Fatehabad.
He said that directions have been issued to officers in the district to accelerate the pace of execution of works approved under his announcements.
Most of the projects in the district approved in 2015 have been completed and work is underway on the others. He said that work on solid waste management plant being established in Bhuna would begin in June.
He said that one village had been selected in the first phase and it was being planned to develop another village Gorakhpur with the assistance of Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited under Corporate Social Responsibility.
The remaining four villages would be developed in the second phase, he added.
He said that development works amounting to Rs 1,300 crore would be executed in the state under 'Deenbandhu Gramin Vikas Yojana'. He said that funds have been released by the State Government under 'Adarsh Gram Yojana'.
