This is the second consecutive year when over 50 lakh passengers have travelled via Kochi airport.
Cochin International Airport Ltd, the airport company, said in a statement that 61,04,559 passengers travelled through the airport in 2014, while during the previous year, it was 52,91,793, a growth of 15.36 per cent.
While 24.86 lakh persons travelled within the country through the airport last year, it was 21.06 per cent in 2013.
In the international sector, 31.85 lakh passengers had travelled abroad through Kochi in 2013 while last year it was 36.18 per cent, a growth of over 13 per cent.
