Passerby woman hurt as two groups exchange fire

A 48-year-old pedestrian was injured in an exchange of fire between two groups over a property dispute in Madhopur Road area of the city today, police said.
The injured woman, identified as Kamla Sharma, was hospitalised and her condition is stated to be stable, an official said.
The incident occurred in afternoon when supporters of two brothers Kalicharan Sharma and Gulab Sharma allegedly fired at each other over an unsettled dispute regarding the division of properties, said Kotwali police station in-charge Yogendra Jadon.
He said the entire incident was captured on CCTV.
"We have registered a case of attempt to murder against unidentified people. We are trying to identify them through the CCTV footage," Jadon said.

Police are investigating various aspects like the make and exact number of firearms used in the incident and source of their procurement.
