The pastor, Aruldas, running an orphanage and prayer halls in Kothagiri, Coonoor and Mettupalayam, was arrested on August 31 on a complaint by the parents of the 17-year-old girl that she was sexually assaulted and tortured by him.
He was lodged in the Coonoor sub-jail and considering his involvement in such activities, Nilgiris Collector P Shankar ordered his detention under Goondas Act, police said.
After serving the orders, Aruldas will be shifted to Coimbatore Central Prison, they said.
