After creating box office wonders with her latest release "Wonder Woman", filmmaker Patty Jenkins has now started working on the sequel to the DC superhero movie.
Jenkins is already working on the script for the second standalone movie of the only female superhero of DC universe, which features Gal Gadot in the lead role, reported Variety.
Jon Berg and Geoff Johns, who oversee the DC film universe for Warner Bros, made the revelation.
"Patty and I are writing the treatment right now. The goal is to make another great 'Wonder Woman' film," he said.
Johns said that he "had a blast" working with Jenkins on the first "Wonder Woman" and that the pair already have a "cool idea" for the followup.
Warner Bros Pictures President and CCO Toby Emmerich told earlier that the sequel will not take place during World War I like the first, but is still likely to be set in the past.
"Wonder Woman" has earned over USD 573 million worldwide to date.
