Pawan's father says his family is clueless on arrival of body

"We are clueless of when my son's body from the US will arrive as we are yet to receive an official reply to our demands, which we had placed before the IT company officials on June 29," Pawan's father P Anjaiah told PTI here.

Nithyananda Murthy, counsel for Anjaiah's family, said the company had e-mailed a couple of forms to be filled to complete the procedure for bringing back the body, but the family members demanded that they should get all reports, including autopsy and inquest from the US accompany as a precondition to signing the forms.

In a statement here yesterday, the IT firm Cognizant told Pawan's family that no further action could be taken by them to bring the body back unless they sign and return forms required by the New Jersey Medical Examiner's office for releasing the body.

Cognizant also said it had no influence on the family's requirement and expressed surprise with the "frequent" demands made by the family, some as a precondition for allowing the return of the body.

Anjaiah said if the family were not provided with the documents before the body was dispatched, they would take the body from the airport and place it in front of the Bangalore Cognizant office and stage a protest.

Pawan Kumar Anjaiah (26), a techie from Tumukur in Karnataka, was facing charges of murdering Pennsylvania woman Danielle Mehlman in Delaware's Dewey Beach motel on June 18.

He allegedly committed suicide at a hotel in New Jersey due to suspected drug overdose on June 19.

Delaware state police had issued arrest warrant against Pawan charging him with first degree murder and possession of a deadly weapon.
